Junagadh an Animal Planet of India | Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia

sudhanshughij 16 July 2012

Junagadh Zoo is in the western State of India, Gujarat. It is also popular by the name of Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden. The place was set up way back in 1863. The effort of the then Nawab around the place was able to save the race of Asiatic lions. The zoo is also used as a breeding place for the lions. Once the animals are capable of looking after themselves they are left to wander out into the dense Gir forest. White backed vultures are also bred here.
