Voice Engineer
My large Client in Berkshire are looking for a solid Voice Engineer to join there team. The role will be to provide support services to 365 ITMS customers for Unified Communications based on Cisco Communications Manager Systems. The role will primarily revolve around the provision of telephone support of Cisco Communications Manager IP Telephony systems and associated third party applications such as voicemail, unified messaging, contact centre, voice recording etc. The jobholder will also need good IT and networking knowledge to support the role. The jobholder will be expected to maintain awareness of the technology trends in this arena, together with a good working knowledge of existing and new products and applications. Occasional travel throughout the UK will be required to perform this function.
Responsibilities:
" Provide office based support activities to 5i customers for installed environments
" Solves production and network problems of high complexity with Voice over IP technology
" IP phones troubleshooting
" Phone firmware upgrades
" Basic network troubleshooting
" Router, Switch configuration. Cisco and HP
" Cisco CallManager installation, upgrade, configuration
" Registration, configuration, calling problems
" CallManager database replication, problem detection
" Extension Mobility Configuration and troubleshooting
" BAT Bulk Administration
" CallManager trace files analysis
" IP Communicator troubleshooting
" MGCP, H323 Gateway configuration
" ISDN debugs analysis
" Gateway's debug, problem detection
" CallManager and Unity integration configuration, and troubleshooting
" MWI troubleshooting
" Zeacom troubleshooting and configuration.
" Witness troubleshooting and configuration.
" UCCX troubleshooting and basic configuration.
" Provide out of hours on call support on a rota scheme
" Escalate and progress problems with manufacturers where required to effect fast resolution of customer reported problems
" Maintain regular communication with the customer and management on progress/status of owned problems.
" Maintain accurate records of customer communication and progress in the 5i call logging system.
" Occasionally attend customer sites to perform troubleshooting of Cisco IP Telephony systems and associated applications when remote support is not suitable or has been exhausted.
" Other activities as deemed necessary from time to time, in keeping with an overall support role and within experience level.
Requirements:
" Mandatory - Valid UK driving licence, together with car.
" Mandatory - Sound experience with Cisco IP Telephony, specifically Cisco CallManager.
" Highly Desirable - experience with other Cisco Unified Communications applications such as Unity, IPCC Express, Meeting Place Express and other third party products, such as Witness, Arc, Tiger.
" Desirable - Cisco career certifications such as CCVP, CCNA, CCNP etc.
" Desirable - Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco & HP switches, Cisco routers, PIX/ASA devices together with VLAN's, routing protocols and security policies.
